Getting the Gold Back in the Golden Years
Event
date: Oct 9th, Thursday, 9 am to 1 pm
A lot of people attended this "Memory" event. Rev. Doug Edwards of Westminster Gardens brought a cutting-edge computer program that exercised people's brain functions. Many tried it out. The hallways were full of advertising materials for seniors.
Thank you to all the MPG members who pitched in to prepare lunch for the seniors. It was a wonderful site to see everyone turn the little kitchen into a food factory. They say a picture is worth a thousand words so Pattie wanted to take pictures of the kitchen frenzy but her daughter had hidden it somewhere in the maze of paperwork in her office.
There was also a surprise award given to Raoul Pascual of the Convalescent Aid Society who received an award for his countless volunteer hours to the Monrovia Providers Group in service of seniors for his help in putting up this website. On this same day, Raoul also drew several caricatures of the participants. He was the last person to leave the event. Thanks to Amy Yang for these pictures.
